The World Premiere of a New Geography for the Sky
In 1930, astronomers froze the sky into 88 irregular constellations, and we've been stuck with those boundaries ever since. Now, after a lifetime of teaching the stars, Prof. Jimmy Westlake is redesigning the geography of the heavens.
The Dodecasphere divides the heavens into twelve Provinces and seventy-two equal Domains, each anchored by a bright Beacon Star. Every object in the sky gets a simple ZAP Code address. It's the first new way of organizing the whole sky in nearly a century, and this calendar is where it debuts.
What's inside
- Twelve full-page Dodecasphere star charts, a new Province unveiled each month
- 200+ celestial events, each tagged with its ZAP Code so you'll know exactly where to look
- Eclipses, meteor showers, moon phases, conjunctions, oppositions, equinoxes, solstices, and more!
- Gold stars marking Jimmy's Top Ten celestial events of the year
- An interactive introduction to the Dodecasphere, with a QR code to explore it online
Only 50 copies will ever exist. Each one is numbered, hand-signed, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Own a piece of astronomical history from day one. When the Dodecasphere catches on, you can say you were there at the premiere.
